Kanzan Cherry Pleached Tree Description

The Kanzan Cherry, botanically known as Prunus Kanzan, is a popular ornamental cherry valued for its spectacular spring blossom and attractive upright growth.

When trained into a pleached framework, it combines the beauty of an ornamental tree with the practical benefits of elevated garden screening.

In spring, the branches become covered with dense clusters of rich pink double flowers, creating an eye catching seasonal display.

The foliage emerges with a bronze tint before developing into green leaves during the growing season.

The structured canopy of a Kanzan cherry pleached tree can provide privacy and definition along garden boundaries while introducing height above fences and walls.

Its formal appearance works well in both contemporary and traditional UK garden designs.

Pruning Advice

Regular maintenance helps preserve the attractive shape and screening function of a Kanzan Cherry Pleached Tree.

Remove dead, damaged or crossing branches and trim unwanted shoots that develop outside the established pleached framework.

Avoid excessive pruning, particularly while the tree is establishing. Maintaining the existing trained framework will help the tree develop into an attractive and effective screen.
