Evergold Sedge Description

Carex oshimensis Evergold is a distinctive ornamental sedge recognised for its narrow, arching leaves with contrasting green edges and bright creamy yellow centres.

The foliage creates a fresh, vibrant effect and adds useful texture to mixed planting schemes.

The Evergold Sedge is especially effective in shaded or partially shaded borders, where its brighter foliage can help lift darker planting areas. It can be used beneath trees, alongside shrubs or towards the front of borders.

Its compact growth habit also makes Evergold suitable for containers, patios and smaller gardens. The combination of colour and fine foliage allows it to complement both traditional and contemporary garden designs.

Pruning Advice

Evergold Sedge is relatively low maintenance. Remove dead, damaged or untidy foliage in late winter or early spring to encourage a fresh appearance.

Avoid cutting healthy foliage back too severely. Carefully remove older or damaged leaves while retaining healthy growth to preserve the plant's natural shape.

Clear away dead material around the base when required as part of seasonal garden maintenance.
