Bronze Veil Tufted Hair Description

Deschampsia cespitosa Bronzeschleier, commonly known as Bronze Veil, is a graceful ornamental grass valued for its delicate, cloud like flower heads and elegant upright habit. The fine blooms create a shimmering effect when they catch the light and move gently in the breeze.

This Bronze Veil ornamental grass is ideal for adding height and movement without creating a heavy or crowded appearance. It works beautifully alongside flowering perennials, other ornamental grasses and naturalistic planting.

The airy flower heads also make Bronze Veil Tufted Hair an excellent choice for prairie inspired borders and informal garden designs. Its foliage and seed heads can provide useful structure beyond the main flowering period.

Pruning Advice

Leave the flower heads in place through autumn and winter to provide seasonal structure and visual interest.

Cut back the old foliage and flower stems in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges.

Use clean, sharp shears when cutting back the plant and remove any damaged or untidy material. This encourages fresh growth while keeping the clump neat.
